To deactivate your Facebook account, follow these steps:

- **Mobile:** Tap the three lines in the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Settings & Privacy."
**3. Go to Settings:**
- **Desktop:** Click on "Settings."
- **Mobile:** Tap "Settings."
**4. Find Account Ownership and Control:**
- **Desktop:** Scroll down and click on "Account ownership and control."
- **Mobile:** Tap "Accounts Center," then "Personal details," and finally "Account ownership and control."
**5. Select Deactivation or Deletion:**
- **Desktop:** Click on "Deactivation and deletion."
- **Mobile:** Tap "Deactivation or deletion."
**6. Choose Deactivate Account:**
- **Desktop:** Select "Deactivate account."
- **Mobile:** Tap "Deactivate account."
**7. Confirm Your Password:**
- Enter your Facebook password to confirm your decision.

**Note:** Deactivating your Facebook account is temporary. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in. If you want to permanently delete your account, follow the same steps but select "Delete account" instead of "Deactivate account."
